Brat summer may be over, but "brent" winter is just beginning.

Thanks to °1824, our outlet recently had the opportunity to attend Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler's show at Warner Theatre last Tuesday.

Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler invited fans into the warm, familiar world of "brent"—a world they’ve been building together since their 2019 EP. Their brent forever tour celebrates the release of brent iii, the third chapter in their story, a project rooted in a pretty special friendship between the two.

The duo transformed the grand two-story venue into an intimate living room, complete with a loveseat, coffee table, and soft, glowing lamps. Yet, the biggest draw of the night wasn’t just the set design or even their music—it was the genuine, unpolished connection Jeremy and Chelsea shared with the audience and each other.

Midway through the show, Jeremy paused between songs to laugh about a recurring mishap: forgetting to plug in his guitar. With a wry smile, he held up a piece of paper from the crew, printed with the words, "Plug your f***ing guitar in, Jeremy" It was moments like this—genuine and unguarded—that grounded the show, making it feel less like a carefully-constructed performance and more like an intimate, shared experience between the artists and their audience.

The setlist balanced tracks from brent iii with older favorites and solo pieces, like different chapters in a shared diary. Songs like “black & white” and “this is how you fall in love” captured the tender, introspective tone that defines their music, while a few upbeat numbers like “A-frame” had fans shouting the words and swaying to the beat. Each song felt like a page turned, with Chelsea and Jeremy trading lead vocals, harmonizing, and even laying back on the couch as if to say, we’re home here, and so are you.

A nostalgic moment came for fans with a rendition of “you were good to me,” the song that marked the beginning of Jeremy and Chelsea’s musical collaboration. Its roots are simple—a quiet cabin, two friends, and a shared understanding—but its impact has grown immensely.

Now performed on a grand stage with a symphony of strings, steel guitar, and layered percussion, the song felt both familiar and transformed. In many ways, everything had changed: the packed theater, the polished production, the weight of a world they’ve built together. Yet at its core, it remained the same—just two friends, pouring their hearts into music.

They joked, sipped tea, and shared the stage with the ease of a longtime friendship, inviting that warm feeling to carry forward into the quiet corners of our own lives.
