As summer concert season gets underway, country-rock star Darius Rucker is hitting the road with a catalog built for "the hits and the hot summer air."

Rucker is bringing his Songs of Summer Tour 2026 to the stage at The Theater at MGM National Harbor on July 16. The Grammy-winning singer has spent more than three decades building one of popular music's most recognizable catalogs, first as the frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish and later as one of country music's most successful crossover artists.
Since launching his solo country career in 2008, Rucker has earned multiple No. 1 singles and become a mainstay of country radio with hits including “Come Back Song,” “It Won't Be Like This for Long,” “Alright,” and his multi-platinum rendition of “Wagon Wheel.”
The National Harbor stop arrives during a particularly busy chapter for Rucker. Alongside his ongoing country career, he recently launched Howl Owl Howl, a roots-rock supergroup with R.E.M.'s Mike Mills and former Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman that has allowed him to revisit the rock influences that first made him a household name. The project underscores the versatility that has defined Rucker's career, from rock and pop to country and beyond.
“For me, it’s not summer if we’re not playing music outdoors. When I think of the concerts I love attending, it’s the people, the hits and the hot summer air… there’s nothing that compares, so Songs of Summer in a lot of ways is my nod to being in that moment together.”
With support from rising country singer-songwriter Austin Williams, fans can expect a set that draws from every era of Rucker's career: country radio staples, Hootie & the Blowfish favorites, and songs that have made him a fixture on summer concert schedules for decades.
