Folk hitmaker Noah Kahan to bring stadium-sized show to D.C.

There was a time when seeing Noah Kahan meant squeezing into a theater and hoping he played "Maine."
Those days are gone.
Next month, more than 40,000 fans will fill Nationals Park when Kahan brings The Great Divide Tour to Washington on July 22. By then, fans will have had months to sit with The Great Divide, his highly anticipated fourth studio album due April 24.
Kahan doesn't seem to be trying to outrun what made him successful. The title track, released Friday, finds him digging deeper into themes that have long defined his songwriting. Driven by guitars and built around some of his most direct lyrics to date, "The Great Divide" explores the emotional distance that can emerge between people, touching on shame, identity, and the complicated feelings that come with looking back at where you come from.
The album itself was recorded with longtime collaborator Gabe Simon alongside Aaron Dessner, whose work with Kahan on Stick Season helped shape the warmth and intimacy that fans have come to love. According to Kahan, the record examines family, friendship, success, and the ways people drift apart, all themes that feel like natural extensions of the stories he has spent years telling.
That intimacy has helped turn The Great Divide Tour into Kahan's most ambitious run yet. Spanning 23 dates and featuring support from Gigi Perez, the stadium trek marks another leap for an artist whose songs were never designed for pyrotechnics.
In some ways, that's what makes his success so fascinating. Stadium artists are usually defined by spectacle. Kahan became one by writing about homesickness, awkward family dynamics, anxiety, and the complicated feelings that come with growing up and moving away. Somewhere along the way, millions of listeners decided those stories sounded a lot like their own.
