The show is part of a short run of stripped back performances that put the focus on Isakov’s songwriting rather than full band or orchestral arrangements. These shows are expected to be mostly solo, with songs presented in a simpler, more intimate format.

Isakov was born in Johannesburg and now lives in Colorado, where he balances music with running a small farm. That dual life has shaped a body of work that values patience and observation, building a steady following through a body of work that values atmosphere and detail. His six studio albums include Evening Machines, which earned a Grammy nomination, and his latest, Appaloosa Bones. His music often draws from landscape and routine, favoring quiet moments and carefully chosen imagery.

In recent years, Isakov has toured with major symphony orchestras and performed in large venues across the country. This acoustic tour moves in the opposite direction, offering a chance to hear the songs closer to how they were written.

In a similar vein, 2023's Appaloosa Bones is an album shaped by restraint and patience. In a press release, Isakov described the project as a conscious shift away from the dense textures of 2018’s Evening Machines:

“I set out to make a record that was really bare bones... I wanted to go backward a little bit, because Evening Machines was such a deep dive into arrangements.”
