Mayberry took to Instagram to announce the album's release on December 6, expressing the blood, sweat, and tears that went into crafting the album and giving a heartfelt thank you to her supportive fanbase.

With Vicious Creature, Mayberry breaks free from the electro-pop signature of her past work to explore a more raw and personal sound. Drawing inspiration from ‘90s icons like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and PJ Harvey, as well as British girl groups like All Saints and Sugababes, the album leans into a darker, more theatrical pop landscape. Early release singles like "Crocodile Tears," "Shame," and the album's early hits "Sunday Best" and "Something In The Air" showcase her introspective songwriting, balancing vulnerability with empowerment.

Being her first full-length release, Mayberry embraced the opportunity to redefine herself as an artist, unshackled from rules, expectations, and preconceptions. She approached the album with a spirit of experimentation, weaving together personal storytelling and a diverse range of musical influences to shape a distinct sonic identity.

According to a media release from Mushroom Music, Mayberry described the album as a journey of self-discovery:

“So much of this process has been an exercise in empowering myself to listen to my own intuition— something I really trained myself out of. That's ultimately why you start making things—because you felt a feeling, and you wanted to articulate that somehow. I think it was important for me to relearn that kind of independence and recognize what I bring to any table I choose to sit at.”

Mayberry's upcoming tour is expected to be an intimate yet electrifying experience, blending the cinematic pop of Vicious Creature with a stage presence honed from years of touring arenas.
