NEEDTOBREATHE is keeping things quiet a little longer.

The South Carolina-bred band has added a new run of dates "due to overwhelming demand" to their Barely Elegant Acoustic Tour, extending the stripped-back experience into early 2026, and including a stop at Richmond’s Altria Theater. For a group known for filling rooms with towering, sing-along anthems, the Barely Elegant shows flip the script, trading volume for vulnerability and letting the songs breathe in their most essential form.
The acoustic format has become a fan-favorite lane for NEEDTOBREATHE, spotlighting Bear Rinehart’s lived-in vocals and the band’s knack for writing songs that feel both personal and communal. If the band's 2017 Acoustic Live Tour was any indication, these shows will be a welcome mix of storytelling and showmanship. The band has been known to rework familiar tracks, pull deeper cuts to the surface, and create space for moments that don’t always make it into a full-band set.
Along with the new tour dates, NEEDTOBREATHE has been spending a bit of time in the studio, having released three non-album singles in 2025.
“Momma Loves Me,” a collaboration with Alabama outfit The Red Clay Strays, centers on themes of forgiveness and accountability, pairing confession-heavy verses with a refrain rooted in reassurance. The song made its live debut earlier this year at a summer show we had the pleasure of covering back in July.
Most recently, the band released “Where You Call Home,” a slower-burning track about the routines, relationships, and quiet patterns that shape your identity over time. Fans have described the sound as "Into the Mystery"-esque, returning to a more mellow, soft-rock.
